Website Hosting

Hosting Plans

Your WordPress website is hosted via Husk and your domain will be on a hosting plan that provides website hosting, email hosting or both. You are able to pay for your hosting plan either monthly or annually, and invoices are generated and sent on the 1st of every month.

Please download our hosting plans and contact developer@husk.co.nz for any queries about hosting, quotas or notifications. Please email accounts@husk.co.nz at any time if you have any questions about billing.

Daily Backups

Your host will automatically backup your website each day, and keep backups for 30 days. This includes pages, images, assets, and the full database.

02

Google Analytics

This is a service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about a website’s traffic and traffic sources. Simply provide Husk with your Google ID or gmail account, and we will add you as an administrator. Once this is all set up, you can view your Google Analytics here: google.com/analytics

Login: your Gmail address. (We will need a Gmail address to invite you to admin the GA account)
Password: your Google account password

Page Analytics Extension

Google provides an excellent tool that shows how many people are clicking on what internal links on WordPress. In your Chrome browser go to this address:
chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/page-analytics-by-google/fnbdnhhicmebfgdgglcdacdapkcihcoh?hl=en
…and add this extension. This icon will appear on the top right of your browser menu. Click on it when you have your website open. It requires that you are logged in to the account that you have registered with analytics, and that’s it!

Search Engine Rankings

  • It takes time (it may take a month) for search engines to collect data from your website and index it after the launch.
  • Have realistic expectations. Your odds of being found in a search engine for a specific phrase are much better than a very general term.
  • Include text in your page that talks about the term(s) you want the page ranked for.
  • Have good quality relevant sites linking back to your website. For example, mention and provide a link to your website on social media whenever you do an update. If you know others in your industry, ask them to mention your website on theirs in a blog post or as part of their content. You may be able to return the favour.
  • Aim to add a new piece of content to your website weekly. If you can’t do that, try to do it once a fortnight or month. Your content should be unique, interesting, authoritative and compelling.
