Divi Image Management
01
Preparing Images for Upload
Importantly, images must be saved to particular specifications before upload. If you don’t have Adobe Photoshop or one of the alternatives there are other options for resizing your images.
Option 1: Gimpshop, a free photo editing program, has similar features to Photoshop and has a user manual incase you get stuck. You can download it here: gimpshop.com
Option 2: If that’s more complicated than you’re after then have a go with this online tool for resizing your images. Go to: picmonkey.com
02
File Naming
Before you upload, ensure you don’t have spaces or special characters (such as an ampersand (&)) in the filename of the image. In some circumstances this causes the image to not appear or the page to break!
These naming constraints also apply to files (e.g. PDFs), folders and categories.
03
Upload or Edit an Image
Upload an Image to Media (or Edit Size / Orientation)
Navigate to Media. You can drag the image from your computer directly onto this Media page, or alternatively upload new images by clicking ‘Add New’.
To change the size of an image file, click the image you want to change. Under the image preview, click the ‘Edit Image’ button.
Here you can change the size and orientation of the image. Editing the image will overwrite the old image with your new edited one.
Change an Existing Image on a Page
Navigate to Pages >> All Pages, click on the page the image is on, and enter Visual Builder mode by clicking ‘Use Visual Builder’.
Hover over the section that the image is on, and click the ‘row setting’ gear icon. Click the ‘Background’ dropdown and scroll down until you see the image you want to change. Hover over the image and click the gear icon.
If the image is already uploaded to the website, select the new image from the ‘Media Library’ tab.
To upload a new image select the ‘Upload Files’ tab to upload your image before selecting it.
Once the image is replaced, click the green checkbox to save.
Be sure to save the page once you are done. For instructions on how to do this, see ‘Page Management’.
